    The Open Gate
    The Open Gate  As a child, our family had a horse.  Somedays we would let the horse loose from its paddock to roam the fenced property, always being sure to close the gate at the end of the driveway (or so we thought).  Inevitably, someone would forget to close the gate and out the horse would run with five children chasing behind it.  In our Vicariate, we have a vibrant young adult community (almost as energetic as children chasing a runaway horse).  Open to young adults from all walks of

    Good Shepherd Sunday
    This Sunday is termed Good Shepherd Sunday as we reflect upon Christ as our shepherd.  We know through our reading of Scripture that Christ speaks in parables and refers to a shepherd who leaves his entire flock to go and find one lost sheep.  From an economic standpoint, leaving the flock to go after one lone sheep seems foolish.  How many times has someone gone off and done their own thing and we respond back by saying "Oh well, let them go" and we watch them leave?  We read in Scripture that
